Cohen is a grandson of the 1989 Vize-Bundessieger, Cliff vom Hühnegrab SchH 3 FH. Cliff is one of only five German Shepherds in the history of the breed to have received a V-rating/score in BOTH in the Bundessiegerzuchshau (BSZS, German National High Show for Conformation) AND in the Bundessiegerprüfung (BSP, German National High Working Trial), for FOUR consecutive years (combined). Cliff vom Hühnegrab, BSZS 88 - BSP 87,88, 89, 90. Out of these five dogs, Cliff leads the pack with 4 BSP appearances and well as his BSZS V-rating. One of the remaining 4 dogs to have accoplished this remarkable feat is the famous BSP competator Nastor vom Wolfsburger Schloß, a Cliff vom Hühnegrab son, half brother to Cohen's father, Herzog vom Blitzstrahl. Nastor vom Wolfsburger Schloß, BSZS 98 - BSP 96,97,98. Thus, Cliff clearly not only was an outstanding working dog with superb conformation, he also passed these attributes to his progeny. Cohen is a beautiful, 90 pound stallion-like male with wonderful substance and structure. He has outstanding drive for the ball and prey objects. Cohen is a very willing and enthusiastic working dog, exceptional in obedience. Cohen produces strong drives, very good nerves, beautiful structure and intense working ability in his offspring. He is an outstanding tracker, approaching his tracks with a calm and relentless determination. His protection work is very powerful with full and hard grips, and a breathtaking courage test. However, despite all of his working ability and drive, Cohen is an ideal housedog and family companion. He can and does settle down with ease when he is not at work. Despite his excellent house manners and social nature, Cohen maintains an extremely vigilant protectiveness regarding the house and the family. Cohen is stable in all environments, including airports, extremely noisy or distracting situations such as large crowds, and all other situations which might be unsettling to a dog with lesser nerves. Cohen is excellent and well-mannered with puppies and other household pets, including aggressive, ill-tempered cats! He is superb with children and with welcome guests. Cohen is a certified Working Service Dog. He is OFA certified, hips and elbows. Cohen's production as a sire is extremely impressive. His progeny are social yet highly protective and all have outstanding drives for working.
